What is a Life Design Strategist?

A life design strategist helps a woman decide what she wants her life to become, and then build a strategic plan to get there, using the same planning discipline organizations use to turn vision into results. The work is strategy: clarity on who she is becoming, alignment on what matters most, and a roadmap for the season ahead.

I'm Quinn Alexandria, and that's what I do. I'm not a life coach. I'm a life design strategist.

Why I call myself a life design strategist

That line isn't a knock on coaching. I've been coached, and it has changed me. It's simply the most honest description of the work I do.

For 17½ years, I've worked in sales and operations planning, strategy and data analytics. My job has been to help organizations look at where they are today, define where they want to go, and build a plan everyone can actually follow.

I've watched a room full of senior leaders skip the one meeting designed to align them. When we finally compared notes, each of them had a different end date for the same plan. Nobody lacked talent. They lacked alignment. What I've seen again and again is that it can take five times, if not 10 times, as long to reach the end goal when everybody is on a different page.

The same thing happens inside one woman's life. Her calendar is working one plan, her money is working another, and her heart is quietly holding a third. She's capable of all of it. It's just not pointed in one direction.

Not long ago, I was mapping out the long-range horizons of the work I teach, and I had to stop because I was in tears. I looked back at my career, the jobs that didn't make sense at the time, the leaders I'd worked for, the women I'd walked beside through hard seasons, and I could see that all of it had been preparing me for this. Being a life design strategist is beautiful work, and I'm so proud of it.

What a life design strategist does

A life design strategist brings planning discipline to your personal life. In my work, that means helping a woman:

  • Define who she is and who she's becoming, beyond her roles and titles.
  • Align her personal mission, core values and anchor, so her decisions start to feel easier.
  • Design a 90-day roadmap that turns her vision into direction.
  • Look at her life as one system across the five life pillars: Spirituality, Wellness, Social, Temporal and Finance.
  • Review and adjust each season, because life happens and a good plan makes room for it.

Everybody understands the what. A strategist helps with the how, without turning your life into a to-do list.

Life design strategist vs. life coach

People ask me this all the time, so here's how I explain the difference.

Life design strategist Life coach
Starting point Which goals belong in your life at all Often a goal you already have
Main tools Planning frameworks, life pillars, 90-day seasons Often conversation and accountability
Time frame This season, inside a longer vision Often the goal in front of you
What you leave with A vision with a plan behind it Support toward that goal

Coaching can be powerful. A life design strategist simply starts one step earlier and works more like a planner: deciding what your life should hold, then designing the seasons that build it. Neither one is therapy, and neither is legal, financial or tax advice.

What to look for in a life design strategist

  • A real planning background. Ask where they learned strategy, not only what they believe.
  • Clear frameworks. You should be able to see how the work fits together.
  • Respect for every part of your life. Your faith, wellness, relationships, time and money belong in the same plan.
  • Ease, not more work. The right strategy should make your life feel lighter, not add a second job.
  • Honesty about results. A plan works when you work it, and life happens. Be wary of anyone who guarantees an outcome.

Who works with a life design strategist

Accomplished women: leaders, entrepreneurs, creatives, and women just beginning to build. Often she's the one with the plan for everyone else. She's met the goals she set, and she's starting to ask whose goals they were.

If that's you, I'd love to meet you.
